Our two irresistible bookworms – Wiggly and Woggly – travel all the way from Story Galory Town to take young audiences on a magical journey through various picture books.

They encourage a love of reading and use of imagination from an early age. Children respond well to Wiggly and Woggly’s hilarious antics, their love and care of books and their sense of adventure.

This is a highly interactive, fun and colourful show where 4 or 5 varied books are brought to life. This show has the right amount of spice to keep children engaged throughout this 45min show. All around the country Pre-schoolers can be heard singing Wiggly & Woggly’s famous song “We are all about the books No TV.”

Due to popular demand we have a 2nd show running in the latter part of the year called the Highlights show. Different books, different show. Now we can visit your school twice a year.

Primary School Shows

With technology increasing and children reading less, our exciting theatrical shows gets more noses into books. Three professional actors bring our selected books to life

with singing, acting, dancing, well rounded characters and humour.

Stories are left at a cliff hanger, and this is when books are read, imaginations ignited and long queues to the library begin.

With clever audience participation, learner’s love getting involved and we often find many Oscar-winning-worthy performances. This leads to young pupils discovering a love for drama as well.

Hooked on Books | Senior Primary Show: Gr 4 – 7
Hooked on Books Bumper Show: Gr 1- 7 for smaller schools. Mix of titles for all ages.

Books are selected for the appropriate reading levels per show.

The Bumper show is a mix of 3 x Junior and 3 x Senior Primary books for smaller schools.

Primary School Afrikaans Shows

After numerous requests we are proud to present our second Language Afrikaans production for English schools The aim of this show is to expose children to the Afrikaans language by bringing books and vocabulary to life in a fun visual way. By employing tools such as repetition, participation and humour the learners will leave with a fundamental understanding of the language and stories.

Learners are introduced to new vocabulary and ultimately charmed by the beauty of the Afrikaans language, our shows and the chosen books.

The titles have been carefully chosen at a reading level appropriate for second language learners but this doesn’t mean they won’t be stretched.

Confident Afrikaans readers will certainly not be left bored.

NEW SHOW:

We are thrilled to announce that Hooked on Books has developed a show for Young Adults. This means that high schoolers will have us too now.

Our new YA show with three dynamic actors will keep teenagers exploring, opening their minds, questioning and reading. An exciting variety of topical books will be explored to entice the resistant reader.

This show will be current and energetic as the need to get noses out of screens and into books increases.
