At Hooked on Books, we believe that reading is one of the most important skills a child can learn. Our partnership with Exclusive Books is an exciting development for us. Exclusive Books is a leading bookseller in South Africa, with a wide range of books for all ages and interests. We are thrilled to be partnering with them to promote literacy and reading in children.
Reading and Academic Success
As part of our partnership, we will be working together to promote reading through various initiatives. One such initiative is the Hooked on Books Reading Challenge, which encourages children to read as many books as they can within a set time period. Children who complete the challenge will receive a certificate of achievement and a prize from Exclusive Books.
Reading and Social and Emotional Development
Another initiative is the Hooked on Books Book Club, which will be hosted in Exclusive Books stores. This book club is aimed at children between the ages of 8 and 12, and will meet once a month to discuss a chosen book. This is a great opportunity for children to discuss books with their peers and to develop critical thinking skills.
We will also be hosting Hooked on Books events in Exclusive Books stores. These events will feature dramatizations of book-trailers from modern day children’s books, as well as interactive storytelling and book-related activities. These events are a great way to get children excited about reading and to introduce them to new books and authors.
